I, obviously (I'm sorry if you haven't been paying attention), am into science fiction. While I do like other genres, sci-fi is where my heart is, and that's because sci-fi—the good stuff—is actually just philosophical discourse that plays around with one question: Are we going to destroy ourselves or be destroyed by someone or something else? The answer from pretty much every serious science fiction author is usually, "ummm . . . yeah."
So, we're all going to die, but who cares? Treat yourself to a good book, and revel in the fact that even though our demise is on the way, the people in whatever book you're reading are suffering now, and that according to quantum physics, in an infinite universe, that just might actually be true.
I've digressed . . . like a lot. I've compiled a list of my all-time favorite books. Please send me your suggestions too!
Forever and always,
~ A. James
